If both of you commute to office jobs in Jakarta, the land-title errand tends to sit on the to-do list for months. The Land Office opens Monday to Friday, the same hours you're at your desk, and taking half a day off to collect one document feels like a bad trade when you don't know how long the queue will be.
There is another option that few Bekasi homeowners use. On Saturday, 26 September 2026, the Kota Bekasi Land Office (Kantah Kota Bekasi) opened its doors again for PELATARAN, short for Pelayanan Pertanahan Akhir Pekan, or weekend land services. According to a GoBekasi report the next day, residents who came that morning collected certificates after a mortgage discharge (roya), freehold (SHM) certificates and electronic certificates.
The head of Kantah Kota Bekasi, Tarbarita Simorangkir, described PELATARAN as an alternative for residents who can't come on working days. One resident, Agung Budianto, said collecting his SHM certificate took less than 10 minutes.
How PELATARAN Works
PELATARAN is a national programme. The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) has run it since 2022, and by mid-2025 it was available at 107 land offices. Minister Nusron Wahid has encouraged people to use it to handle their certificates themselves.

The rule that matters most is the ban on proxies. If a notary/PPAT or an agent has always handled your paperwork, that route still runs on weekdays. PELATARAN is built for owners who do it themselves.
Homeowner Errands That Suit a Saturday Morning
1. Collecting your certificate after a mortgage is paid off
Once the last instalment clears, the bank returns your original certificate and the discharge documents. The mortgage right stays on the BPN record until it is deleted through roya. 2. Upgrading HGB to SHM

3. Picking up a finished certificate
Document handover is one of PELATARAN's core services. If the notice that your certificate is ready arrives mid-week, you don't need to wait for annual leave.

What Your PPAT Handles and What You Can Do Yourself
Buyers of a new house in a cluster usually go through the same sequence of documents: a PPJB with the developer, an AJB before a PPAT, transfer of title into the buyer's name, and years later a roya once the mortgage is paid off. With a bank mortgage, the AJB and the registration of the mortgage right are normally handled by the bank's partner notary. That stage runs on weekdays and doesn't need PELATARAN.
The steps that come back to the owner are the later ones: collecting the certificate in your own name, upgrading HGB to SHM, and roya. Those three are the errands that make most sense for a Saturday morning at the Land Office, with no agent's fee and no leave day.
Before You Go
The service runs for only four hours. Arriving close to opening time is safer than turning up at 11 and running out of time in the queue.
Bring the original ID card of the owner named on the certificate, plus whatever your errand needs: the bank's payoff letter and mortgage-right certificate for roya, or the HGB certificate and property-tax (PBB) receipt for an upgrade. If the certificate is in two names, ask beforehand whether both owners must attend. With no proxies allowed, one of you may not be enough.
Check the official Kantah Kota Bekasi social accounts before you set off, especially on a weekend next to a public holiday. Local reports say PELATARAN closes on national holidays.
